News from Metcalfe County School District

Metcalfe County High School was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the DART Foundation. The application, written by Green River Regional Education Cooperative (GRREC) employee, Eric Sexton is to provide more students access to technology.

Sexton, a College & Career Readiness Counselor, employed by GRREC and stationed at Metcalfe County High School applied for the grant in hopes to complete a mobile Chromebook lab for students and faculty to utilize.

Sexton became familiar with Chromebooks, a slim cloud-based laptop, year before last when he was able to purchase eight (with GRREC's Race-to-the-Top funding) and pilot them with students for use in his college and career center. Now Sexton will be able to complete a classroom set of Chromebooks, making them accessible to students and working toward the school districts goal of personalized learning.
