Jason Batts officially files for U.S. Representative, 1st District From Jason Batts FRANKFORT, KY (15 Jan 2016) - Hickman County Attorney and Army Reserve Captain Jason Batts officially filed papers today to seek the Republican nomination for Congress in Kentucky's First District. Attesting to his candidacy - a requirement under Kentucky law - were his wife, Tonia, and decorated military veteran Joey Delapp. "Tonia and Joey embody what our campaign stands for and they share my personal convictions." Batts said. "Tonia is not only my wife, she is my high-school sweetheart and best friend - one who shares my belief that family is the cornerstone to a successful society." "Joey served five combat deployments between Iraq and Afghanistan, was chosen as soldier of the year for the 101stAirborne division at Fort Campbell, he's a small business owner, and is a single-dad from Western Kentucky.
