She was a retired nurse at Fairoaks Nursing Home. She was of Pentecostal Faith and was an avid Rook player. She was a native of Russell County, a resident of the county at the time of her death in Pulaski County, KY, and her final resting place will be in the county of her birth. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Lilah Brown Sutton, age 67, Russell Springs, Kentucky passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Saturday January 16, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky with Bro. Billy Silverman officiating. Interment will be in the Bernard Cemetery, Russell Springs, Kentucky. Visitation will be Friday January 15, 2016 5pmCT till 9pmCT at the funeral home.



Lilah Brown Sutton, 67, Russell Co., KY (1948-2016)


She was born on Wednesday November 10, 1948 in Russell County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late William Roe Brown and the late Flora Willard Brown. She died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 67 years, two months, and two days.

She was a retired nurse at Fairoaks Nursing Home of Pentecostal Faith and an avid Rook player. She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter> Carrie Burton, Russell Springs, Kentucky

  • Spouse: Calvin

  • One Sister: Ann Stiers, Shelbyville, IN

  • Two grandchildren: Jessica (Ben) Andrew and Samantha Burton

  • Two great-grandchildren: Riley and Cassidy Andrew

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Harlan Brown, Jr.; Bethal Coffey, Jenny Yeadon, Tolly Brown, Freddie Brown, Pearl Williams, Joe D. Brown and Mitchell Brown.
