LWC's Brady Moser tabbed as MSC Wrestler of the Week

Charlie Balcom

Lindsey Wilson wrestling freshman Brady Moser has been named the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Moser posted a perfect 5-0 record over the weekend at the National Wrestling Coaches' Association National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind., helping Lindsey Wilson to an eighth-place finish in the tournament that featured 13 teams ranked in the NAIA Coaches' Top 20 Poll.

Moser began the tournament with a 5-3 decision over Kyle Carey of No. 8-ranked Concordia (Neb.) at the 133-pound class. His win helped the Blue Raiders upset the Bulldogs 19-18 in the opening round.

The Coral Springs, Fla., native then took down Alexander Juarez of No. 3 Missouri Valley with an 18-1 technical fall. Moser later pinned Missouri Baptist's Johnathan Bobeen in six minutes for his third win of the weekend.

On Saturday, Moser opened the day with an upset win over No. 8-ranked Parker Bohannon 5-3 of Oklahoma City. His final match was a rematch with Carey of Concordia where Moser once again emerged victorious, this time with a 13-4 major decision to finish at 5-0 for the weekend.

This weekly honor is Moser's first of the season and his career. He joins fellow teammate Jake Maupin as weekly award winners form Lindsey Wilson this year.
