Lindsey Wilson Swimming adds Michael Peck to 2016-17 roster By Charlie Balcom The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team has added Michael Peck for the 2016-17 season, head coach Alicia Kemnitz announced on Monday. Peck comes to the Blue Raiders from West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, Ky., where he specialized in distance freestyle, backstroke, and individual medley events. A native of Lexington, Ky., Peck also competes with Highbridge Aquatics club team where he has been a member since 2003. In his time with Highbridge, Peck has collected multiple awards including being named Most Outstanding Swimmer six times. He has also earned Most Improved honors and was the High Point Award winner for both the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Peck earned the Highbridge 110 percent award in 2013 and 2014. With all of his honors, Peck will graduate as the most tenured swimmer in club history from Highbridge. He also picked up the West Jessamine High School Most Improved Swimmer Award. In last year's Kentucky State Championships, Peck posted times of 27.70 in the 50-yard backstroke and 58.26 in the 100-yard backstroke. He finished as the runner-up in the Kentucky Region Three Championships in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 53.70. Peck plans to study physical therapy in his time at Lindsey Wilson.
