Roy David Richards, 71, Russell Co., KY (1944-2016)

He was a Veteran of US Army and a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church. He will be accorded full military honors at committal rites. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late John & Nola Humble Richards. He leaves three direct and one step living descendants, two surviving sisters are residents of Adair County, KY.

Roy David Richards, 71, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at his home.

Graveside service for Roy David Richards will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Humble Cemetery, with Bro. David Coffey officiating. There will be no visitation. Special music will be rendered by Ashley Burton. Pallbearers: Ryan Abrell, Charles Grider, William Abrell, Ralph Grider, Steve Beams, and James David Abrell Interment in the Humble Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.

He was born May 16, 1944 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late John & Nola Humble Richards. He died Sunday, January 10, 2015, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 71 years, seven months, and 25 days.

He was a Veteran of US Army and a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen Richards, Danny Richards, Eugene Foley; and two sisters, Juanita Bridgeman, and Pat Abrell. Survivors include:
  • Two children: Stephanie Rae (Douglas) Allison, Louisville, KY; and Rachelle Lee (Dwayne) Morris, Russell Springs, KY

  • One grandchild: Chloe

  • One step grandaughter: Nolyn Beatty

  • Two sisters: Betty (William) Abrell, and Glenda (Ralph) Grider, both of Columbia, KY
