Taylor County Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 5 Jan 2016

Indictments brought against 8 individuals, including residents of Campbellsville, Raywick, Elkhorn and Paducah. Charges include possession of drugs, forgery, theft, assault and burglary.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Taylor County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Campbellsville, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 5 January 2016:


  • Kevin Nelson (05/29/1978), Cox Cemetery Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00001. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Posession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin). Count 2 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (opiates). Count 3 - Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree (drug unspecified). Bond set at $20,000/10%.

  • Jamie A. Ritchie (08/17/1988), Sexton Ct., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00002. Charged with 29 counts. Counts 1-29 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bond set at $2,000 full cash.

  • Shawn M. Gribbins (04/10/1987), Clell Mattingly Rd., Raywick, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00003. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Tampering with physical evidence. Count 2 - TBUT or disposition shoplifting under $500.

  • Jacob Sadler (07/18/1989), Jacobs Trail, Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-00004. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - TBUT or disposition shoplifting $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 2 - Promoting contraband, 1st degree. Bond set at $500 cash, no contact with victim.

  • Jacob Sadler (07/18/1989), Jacobs Trail, Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-00005. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - TBUT or disposition shoplifting over $10,000 but under $1,000,000. Bond set at $600 cash, no contact with victim.

  • Rufus Franklin Hansford, Jr. (09/28/1961), Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00006. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by deception (including cold checks), more than $500 but less than $10,000. Bond set at $1,000 unsecured, no use of drugs or alcohol.

  • Jeffrey A. Jones (07/01/1962), Beechwood Dr., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00007. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Assault, 1st degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Bond set at $250,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness, no possession of firearms.

  • Michael Johnson (03/08/1988), Cox Rd., Elkhorn, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00008. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 2 - TBUT or disposition all others under $500. Count 3 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $500 cash, no contact with victim.

  • Miles J. Coffey (02/23/1993), Count Park Rd., Paducah, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00009. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $500 cash, no contact with victim.
