Chrystal Ree Martin Blaydes, 90, Taylor Co., KY Metcalfe native (1925-2015)

She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and her final resting place will be there. She had been a member of Elm View United Methodist Church in the Eastview/Bridgeport community of eastern Metcalfe County before moving to Campbellsville, after which she joined St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was educated in one-room schools in Green and Metcalfe Counties. She was the daughter of the late Frank Henry Martin and Stella Mae Martin, and the widow of Walton Howard Blaydes, whom she married in the parlor of Rev. Barton's home in Edmonton.

Chrystal Ree Martin Blaydes, 90, of Campbellsville, KY, departed for heaven at 8:28pmET, Friday, November 27, 2015 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service will be at 11amCT/12pmET, Monday, November 30, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Richard Lowe, Rev. Tony Franklin, Daniel Holt and Rev. Garnett Davis. Burial will be Metcalfe Memorial Gardens, Greensburg Road, Edmonton, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Chrystal Ree Martin Blaydes, 90, Taylor Co., KY Metcalfe native (1925-2015)

Chrystal Ree Martin Blaydes was the daughter of the late Frank Henry Martin and Stella Mae Parson Martin. She was born March 9, 1925 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. She departed for heaven Friday, November 27, 2015 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 90 years, eight months, and 18 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elm View United Methodist Church for 50 years until moving to Campbellsville when she joined St. Mark United Methodist Church.

She was educated in the one-room schools of Green and Metcalfe Counties. She united in marriage to Walton Howard Blaydes June 24, 1944 in the home of Rev. Barton in Edmonton. He preceded her in death October 14, 1994. To this union was born one daughter, Wanda Louise Blaydes Jeffries of Campbellsville, KY.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Larissa Shelley Jeffries in 1974, her son-in-law Dr. Thomas V. Jeffries in 2006; one sister, Mazetta Lee Martin Stephens; and two brothers, Clifton Clay Martin and Donald DeWayne Martin.

Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Wanda Louise Blaydes Jeffries, and the following:
  • Two granddaughters: Kara Camille Jeffries Holt and husband, Daniel and Alyssa L. Jeffries of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Chloe Isabel Holt, Caleb Daniel Holt and Carsten Thomas Holt of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four sisters: Elanora Pickett, Sylvia Landis Kelley and Jean Clark and husband, Richard of Greensburg, KY; and Carolyn Blaydes of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
