News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY – Lindsey Wilson women's soccer student-athlete Amanda Kander has been selected to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division Second Team.

Kander earns the academic team honor in her first year of eligibility. The sophomore from Lund, Sweden is a communication major with a 3.73 grade point average. She joins nine other student-athletes on the Second Team.

On the field, Kander has helped Lindsey Wilson capture the 2015 Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament championships while leading the team to a 16-1-2 record and the top overall seed at the NAIA National Tournament.

She is one of four Blue Raiders to start all 19 games this season and has 10 goals and 10 assists on the year. The 10 goals are the third most on the team while the 10 assists are tied for the team lead. Kander helps facilitate a high-scoring Lindsey Wilson offense that averages 3.7 goals per contest, the sixth most in the NAIA.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division soccer teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
