Mrs. Dorothy M. Solomon, 97, Marrowbone, KY (1918-2015)

She was a member of Waterview Church of Christ, an employee of General Motors Delco-Remy Division, President and Treasurer of Kilbuck Retirement Group, a member of United Auto Workers Local No.662 Retiree of which she was the first woman vice president for 6 years, President of the Retiree Craft Club, member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Anderson, Indiana and she prepared meals for Union meeting for 6 years.

Mrs. Dorothy M. Solomon, age 97, of MARROWBONE, KENTUCKY, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 4pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana. The family will receive friends after 6amCT, on Thursday morning until the funeral hour.

She was born in Daleville, Delaware County, Indiana on Sunday, June 30, 1918. She was the daughter of Irvin M. and Edith Pugsley Coffman. She died Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY, at the age of 97 year, four months, and 18 days.

She was a member of Waterview Church of Christ, an employee of General Motors Delco-Remy Division, President and Treasurer of Kilbuck Retirement Group, a member of United Auto Workers Local No.662 Retiree of which she was the first woman vice president for 6 years, President of the Retiree Craft Club, member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Anderson, Indiana and she prepared meals for Union meeting for 6 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia Kay Solomon Kinser; her brothers, Ray Coffman, John Coffman, and Edward Coffman; and her sister, Crystal Samuels. She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Alfred Lee Solomon of Wabash, Indiana

  • Her step-grandson: Brett Fisher of California

  • Her sister: Helen Anderson of Anderson, Indiana

  • Her good friends: Wanda Spears of Burkesville, Kentucky and Joan Fisher of Anderson, Indiana

  • One granddaughter: Heather Renee Solomon

  • Three grandchildren

  • One great-grandson: Devin Nunn
