James Welby (Jimmy) Baker, Cumberland Co. KY (1940-2015)

He was a retired road inspector for the Kentucky Department of Transportation, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was born in Cumberland County, KY and his final resting place will in in his native county. He was the son of the late Farris Baker and Nina Gwinn Baker. He leaves six direct living descendants.

James Welby "Jimmy" Baker, age 75, of Bowling Green, KY formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Baker Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5pmCT until 9pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home



James Welby (Jimmy) Baker, Cumberland Co. KY (1940-2015)


Jimmy was born on January 01, 1940 in Cumberland County, KY. He was the son of the late Farris Baker and Nina Gwinn Baker. He died Sunday, October 18, 2015, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 75 years, nine months, and 17 days.

He was a retired road inspector for the Kentucky Department of Transportation, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Baker, and one sister, Barbara Jane Baker.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons: Tawd Baker of Louisville, KY, Jeffrey Baker of Bowling Green, KY and Cody Baker of Bowling Green, KY

  • One daughter: Kim Scott of Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: Jackie Baker and Joel Baker both of Burkesville, KY

  • One sister: Janice Gray of Celina, TN

  • Two grandchildren: Jacqueline Shelby Sanders, and Noah Zachary Baker

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
