By Mike Watson

It's Time for the 9th Annual "Silent City Cemetery Tour!" Monday, October 26, 2015, 5pmCT. We shall all gather at the Adair Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, and walk to the cemetery at 315 Campbellsville Street, where we will meet historical figures from Columbia's past. After the tour, there will be refreshments and conversation back at the library. Here are a list of the characters you will meet:
  1. Lafayette Page, M.D., L.L.D., born 1863, died 14 July 1929, and his wife, Marion Page, born 9 August 1973 - portrayed by J.D. and Ellen Zornes
  2. Isham D. Scott, Sergeant, Company L, 6th Kentucky Cavalry, Federal Army, Civil War - portrayed by Steven Baker
  3. McFarland Canterbury, Adair County jailer, blacksmith and farmer - portrayed by Mike Watson
  4. Lillie Yingling Smith, Columbia businesswoman - portrayed by Jennifer Smith
  5. Anna Trabue Caldwell, born 1783, died 1846 - portrayed by LeeAnn Jessee
  6. Lewis Triplett, Columbia resident and businessman, inventor of the Triplett-Scott Rifle, born 1822, died 1902 - portrayed by Barry Jones
If you find the walk from the library too much, please meet us there at the cemetery - park at the old Southern States building next to the Adair County Fire Department and join the tour at that point. Put on those walking shoes and join us!
