Streets proposed for paving received a unanimous vote of approval at the Monday night, October 5, 2015, regular meeting of Columbia city Council. The streets are:
  • Johnnie Street starting at Grady Street and going 562 feet to light pole.
  • Pickett Street starting at pole (26), 257 feet ending at Lee Street.
  • Lee Street starting at Pickett, 912 feet, stopping at Mack Street.
  • Willis Street starting at Hurt Street, 452 feet and ending at Harvey Street.
  • Baker Street 25 MPH sign, go 505 feet and end at Hudson Street.
  • E. Fraser Street start at pole number five, go 414 feet and end at pole number eight.
  • Church Street, start at patch at the top of the hill and go 523 feet, stop Burkesville Street.
  • Myrtle Street, start at new blacktop at light pole number 815 and go 348 feet, stop Curry's lot.
  • Denver Drive.
Mayor Hardwick said these street repairs represented what could be done now with the limited amount of funds, $80,000, to address the city's most needed street problems. Motion to accept the mayor's proposed streets was made by Councilman Ron Rogers with a second by Councilman Craig Lasley.
