Billy Joe Fudge: Don't drive out of town for gas

Instead call the Attorney General's office if you think there's price gouging. Writer says

By Billy Joe Fudge
Personal commentary

I am a free enterprise, limited government kind of guy. I don't believe the government should stick its nose in where it is not needed and where our citizens do not profit from its intervention.

Our citizens, individually and collectively, are being harmed. Make no mistake about it, a continual $0.10 per gallon premium is annually transferring hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in excess profits from our citizens pockets to the pockets of those responsible for making our area gas prices higher than surrounding cities and counties.

I do not advocate driving out of town to purchase gas but if you're out of town, have at it. Dozens and dozens of our friends and neighbors are employed locally in the retail and wholesale petroleum business and we certainly do not want to harm them unnecessarily. They are not a part of the problem.

Simply call the Attorney General's office. The Attorney General is supposed to be there for us and if bombarded by enough calls, action will be taken or at least should be. If we all join hands in a civil, concerted effort, we will see this problem resolved. -Billy Joe Fudge Comments re article 77976 Letter Go elsewhere and buy gas
