22 year old Russell Co. woman arrested in Columbia, KY

She is alleged to have been in criminal possession of a forged prescription of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

Columbia Police Department arrested a Russell County woman for attempting to obtain prescription controlled substances illegally, on Thursday, September 17, 2017.

Ofc. Josh Brockman and Sgt Jr Murphy were dispatched on Thursday, to a local pharmacy to a report of a female who had a prescription which was suspicious to employees.


After Investigation it was found to be a altered in an attempt to get a larger quantity of a controlled substance than what was prescribed.

Upon getting description of vehicle from employees and name of female she was located on Russell Road and a traffic stop was initiated.

Arrested was 22 year old Bethany Popplewell of Russell Springs, KY, on charges of Criminal Possession of a Forged Prescription for a Controlled Substance a class D felony.

Popplewell was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Ofc. Josh Brockman assisted by Sgt Jr Murphy.
