Marie Westmoreland Wells, 85, Burkesville, KY (1929-2015)

She was a former employee of Bob Evans and Alpine Resort. She was a native of Clay County, TN, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY at the time of her death. She was member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Tennessee and Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Clure Westmoreland and Leada Walker Westmoreland. She was the widow first of James Ruel Moon, Sr. and second, Wallace Wells. She leaves five direct and two step living descendants.

Marie Westmoreland Wells age 85 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. The family requests visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 4pmCT until 9pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.


Marie Westmoreland Wells, 85, Burkesville, KY (1929-2015)

She was born in Clay County, Tennessee on November 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Clure Westmoreland and Leada Walker Westmoreland. She died Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 85 years, nine months, and 29 days.

She was a former employee of Bob Evans and Alpine Resort.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ruel Moon, Sr., her second husband Wallace Wells, and one daughter, Anita Carol Moon, and one brother, Cullom Westmoreland. Survivors include the following:
  • One son: James Ruel Moon, Jr. and his wife Ginny of Glasgow, KY

  • Five brothers-: Jimmy Westmoreland, and David Westmoreland both of Celina, TN; Roy Westmoreland of Moss, TN; Hubert Westmoreland of Phoenix City, Alabama; and Benny Westmoreland of Anderson, IN

  • Two grandchildren: Christopher Moon and his wife Michelle of Scottsburg, IN; and Hannah Beck and her husband Randy of Rapid City, OH

  • One step grandchild: Jennie Raines of Greenwood,IN

  • Three great grandchildren: Brooklyn Marie Moon, and Brody James Moon both of Scottsburg, IN, and Halley England of Rapid City, OH

  • One step great grandchild: Jacob Chapiesky and his wife Katie of New Orleans, LA and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
