Columbia Police investigate death of Infant child Infant girl was found deceased by her parents at a residence in the limits of Columbia. Autopsy performed today in Louisville, KY. Although investigation is still underway, preliminary investigations of the Columbia Police, Adair County Coroners Office and the State Medical Examiner show no signs of traumatic injury to the child Click on headline for complete report By Ofc. Josh Brockman, Public Affairs Officer Columbia Police Department, Jason Cross, Chief On Saturday, September 5, 2015, Columbia Police were notified to respond to Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY, to a reported child death. Upon arrival CPD officers Josh Brockman and Jamie Cole met with Adair County Coroner Todd Akin and confirmed that a seven week old child was located deceased by the parents at a residence in the limits of Columbia, KY. A death investigation was opened by the department in accordance with standard department procedures. As the investigation continued throughout the day an autopsy was scheduled at the State Medical Examiners Office in Louisville Ky for the following day the following day, Sunday, September 6, 2015. On Sunday, September 6, 2015, Officer Brockman and Coroner Akin accompanied the body of Lilly Dickson to Louisville for the autopsy. Preliminary investigations of the Columbia Police, Adair County Coroners Office and the State Medical Examiner show no signs of traumatic injury to the child. Although the investigation is not complete, no foul play is suspected at this time in the infants death. Officer Josh Brockman is the investigating officer.
