Ralph Waggener sends personal comment on downtown safety

Comments about: Walking Columbia: Some suggestions for pedestrian safety written by Ann Heskamp

By Ralph Waggener
Personal commentary by the writer

I tried recently to get up to 15 miles per hour coming on to the Square from Burkesville Street, to Campbellsville Street, your car is leaning over like you are doing 100 miles per hour.

It's hard to do 15 on that part of the square, but I have not checked the Greensburg Street side, but believe it would be just as hard. The speed most travel is under 15 miles per hour coming around it from C-ville Street. Coming off Greensburg Street. it looks more likely for vehicles to exceed the 15 mile speed limit. Not making a fuss but try to go 15 and see if you can? Thanks Ralph Roy Waggener as always out of order.
