Washington, DC - U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) is pleased to announce a grant for the Eli Volunteer Fire Department from the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.

The Eli Volunteer Fire Department in Eli, Russell Count, KY, will receive $110,324. This grant will provide federal funding for much-needed emergency response equipment, personal protective equipment, firefighting and emergency vehicles, and training under the operations and safety program.

"I am pleased to see the Eli Volunteer Fire Department receive this vitally important federal grant," said Whitfield. "These resources for fire prevention and safety projects will provide more security and service during emergency conditions within Russell Springs and assist the neighboring regions as well."
