Bryan Blair: 1905 would have been early era of carnivals Bryan Blair writes: I'm not sure what the first year of a carnival at the Adair County Fair was but 1905 would've been the early era of carnivals in the USA. It is widely believed that carnivals got their beginnings after the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. In 1902 there were seventeen traveling carnivals in the United States.
