Carmel Anderson, Russell Springs, KY (1945-2015)

He was a retired Dock Worker for the bakery industry and a proud member of Teamsters Local 734. He was a native of Pike County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Ada (May) and Victor Anderson. His wife of 50 years, Wanda Norman Anderson, survives. He leaves 20 direct living descendants.

Carmel Anderson, 69, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away Thursday, August 27, at his residence.

Funeral Services for Carmel Anderson will be at at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, at 12pmNoonCT, Monday, August 31, 2015, with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. First visitation will be after 4pmCT on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home; 2nd day of visitation will be after 2pmCT on Sunday, August 30, and after 11amCT on Monday prior to the service. Interment will be in Darnell Cemetery, Russell County, KY.


Pallbearers: Adam Kouba, Nick Kouba, Victor Plescia, Jeff Anderson, Jay Duplesys and Nicky Papadopolus.

Carmel Anderson, was born in Kimper, Pike County, KY on September 5, 1945. He was a son of the late Ada (May) and Victor Anderson. He died Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, a the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

He was a retired Dock Worker for the bakery industry and a proud member of Teamsters Local 734.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Norman Anderson of Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters, Sandra May, of Russell Springs, KY; Dena Plescia, Aurora, IL; Sheila Anderson-Athern, of Darien, IL

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • Numerous nieces and nephews

  • Four sisters, Eva Mounts, of Phyllis, KY; Avenelle Ramey, of Lick Creek, KY; Jean Adkins, of Russell Springs, KY; and Audrey Mae Anderson, of Russell Springs, KY.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie "Bo" Anderson.
