Shirley B. Parrish, 75, Adair Co., KY (1940-2015)

She was a member of a highly regarded South Adair County, KY, family. Shwas a retired hairdresser and operated the Southway Beauty Salon for 21 years and a member of the Breeding United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Reid and Beulah McIntyre Estes and the widow of Walter Parrish. She leaves two direct and one step living descendants.

Shirley B. Parrish, 75 of Louisville, KY formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:22amCT, in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 3pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Steve Pescosolido, officiating. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT, on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

She was born Monday, July 15, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Reid and Beulah McIntyre Estes. She died Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 75 years, one month, and 12 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Parrish in 2007, and by these siblings: Morris Willard Estes, Hadis Bryant Estes and Nelda Taylor She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Rose Harvey and husband Steven of Louisville, KY

  • Special friends: Susie and Jesse Wells of Louisville, KY

  • One grandchild: Rhiannon Harvey

  • One step grandchild: Kaela Harvey

  • Three sisters: Grace Sparks of Woodburn, KY; Jean Nokes of Columbia, KY; and Nancy McKinney of Columbia, KY
Shirley was a retired hairdresser and operated the Southway Beauty Salon for 21 years and a member of the Breeding United Methodist Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Jim Blair Road, Columbia, KY
