Friday night football draws 1,154 for opening game

ACHS Football's next game is away: Adair County at Caverna High School, 2276 South Dixie Street, Horse Cave, KY, at 7pmCT, Friday, August 29, 2015.

Adair County Football Coach Travis Gay reports that there were 1,154 at the Friday, August 21, 2014 opening game. That number includes 954 paid, and 200 students in attendance.

This year, students attend all home Adair County High School sports events free.

Supt. Alan W. Reed said it is believed this was the largest crowd ever for an Adair County football contest. "We are basing that on the parking. Several commented they had never seen the roadways lined so far from the school." He made that claim before Coach Gay confirmed the actual game attendance.
