He was a native of Pulaski County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. His wife, Elisabeth Cook, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Shawn Matthew Cook, 39, of Jamestown, died Monday, August 17, 2015 in Albany, KY of injuries sustained in a automobile accident on S. Hwy. 127 in Albany, KY.

Funeral service for Shawn Matthew Cook will be 2pmCT, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jim Kingry officiating. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Thursday. Interment in the Dunbar Cemetery.

Members of the Fire Department and Sheriff's Department will serve as pallbearers.

He was born February 1, 1976 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY. He was the son of Tom & Barbara Russell, who survive. He died Monday, August 17, 2015 in Albany, Clinton County, KY, at the age of 39 years, six months, and 15 days.

He was a Deputy Sheriff for the Russell County Sheriff's Department and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include the following:
  • Wife: Elisabeth Cook, Jamestown, KY

  • Four children: Lucas Taylor Cook, Russell Springs, KY; Ann Renea Cook, Russell Springs, KY; Elisabeth Jade Cook, Jamestown, KY; Bobby Joe Lynn, Jamestown, KY

  • Parents: Tom & Barbara Russell, Cedar Bluff, AL
The family requests memorials to the Shawn Cook Memorial Fund. These can be made at the funeral home or Bank of Jamestown.
