Mysetta Montgomery, 91, Green County, KY (1924-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a clerk for several years at the Corner Drug Store in Greensburg, KY. She was a native of Green County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Vester Pierce and Nettie Perkins Pierce, and the widow of Eugene Montgomer, her husband of over 45 years. She leaves two direct living descendants.

Mrs. Mysetta Montgomery, 91, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Thursday, August, 6, 2015 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Myzetta Montgomery will be conducted at 1pmCT, C, on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Kentucky. Bro. Curtis Slinker will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-6pmCT, Saturday, August 9, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: John Kittrell, Doug Wright, Tim Paul, Ronnie Bishop, Ronnie Moran, Olen Bagby, Lloyd Curry, and Louis R. Judd.

Honorary pallbearers: Peggy Darnell, William Milby, Welden, and the Bishop Family.

Mrs. Mysetta Montgomery of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Vester Pierce and Nettie Perkins Pierce, was born on Wednesday, July 9, 1924 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, August, 6, 2015 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY. She was 91 years and 28 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a clerk for several years at the Corner Drug Store in Greensburg, KY.

She united in marriage to Eugene Montgomery on February 10, 1943 who preceded her in death on August 7, 1989.

Survivors include:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Garry S. and Pam Montgomery of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One grandson: Christopher Paul Lokey of New Orleans, LA

  • One sister-in-law: Frances Montgomery of Florida

  • Special caretakers: the children and grandchildren of Welden Bishop

  • Her dog: Muffin

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Montgomery was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: W.E. and Ida Montgomery; and a brother-in-law: J.B. Montgomery.
