Letter: Be loyal to your town and it will grow Wants six day a week shopping (bring back 'Blue Laws') and Columbia back to its Old Fashioned Roots Jeffery Bray writes: Walmart was a bad move years ago. It killed downtown shopping on the square. I think Columbia needs to go back to its old fashion roots. Monday through Saturday, everything needs to be closed on Sundays except hospital, nursing home police depts. It worked 40 years ago. Sunday is the Lord's day, and a day of rest, and I truly believe thats how God wants it. Example: look at Betty's parking lot Monday thru Saturday. She has loyal customers, because she closed on Sunday. --Jeffery Bray This story was posted on 2015-07-28 08:52:44
