Hazel Louise Schorman, 84, Adair Co., KY (1930-2015)

She was a member of a highly respected South Adair County, KY, family, the daughter of Fred and Vena Mae Hoover Pickerell. She leaves 14 direct living descendants. She was a faithful member of the Amazing Grace Church. She worked at the Adair Co. Jail for many years and for Dr. & Mrs. A.G. Herrera for many years. Her hobbies included gardening and caring for her flowers - which so many enjoyed traveling by her charming house on Hurt Street - and caring for her two dogs

Hazel Louise Schorman, 84 years of Hurt Street, Columbia, KY passed away suddenly Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:32pmCT, in a fire at her residence.

Funeral service: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes the officiating Clergy. Interment in the Lewis Cemetery at Chance, KY. The family requests visitation after 3:30pmCT, on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Hazel Louise Schorman, 84, Adair Co., KY (1930-2015)

She was born in the Chance Community of Adair Co. KY on Tuesday, December 23, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Vena Mae Hoover Pickerell of Adair Co. KY. She died Friday, July 17, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 84 years, six months, and 24 days.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Norris Pickerell in 1988 Survived by the following:
  • Five sons: Ricky Schorman and wife Marie of Nancy, KY; Jeff S. "Fuzzy" Schorman and Sonia Tweedy of Columbia, KY; David Schorman and wife Jo of Greensburg, KY; Mark Schorman and wife Gina of Columbia, KY; and Michael Schorman and Shelly Yarberry of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Eric, Gracie, Brittany and Tiffany Schorman.

  • Five great grandchildren: Benjamin Harmon, Katelynn Harmon, Landon Schorman, Jayden and Katelyn Schorman.
Louise was a faithful member of the Amazing Grace Church, she worked at the Adair Co. Jail for many years and for Dr. & Mrs. A.G. Herrera for many years. Her hobbies included gardening and caring for her flowers and caring for her two dogs.
