AC Bd. of Education rescinds 1 agreement, authorizes another

The Adair County Board of Education voted this morning, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, to rescind an agreement made yesterday, and to approve another the remediation of a botched Geo-Thermal Installation at the Adair County Primary Center.

Alan W. Reed, interviewed at the Board's Conference Room following an executive session, made the following statement:



"The board voted to rescind the agreement made yesterday and to approve a settlement agreement and authorize me to sign after all other parties have signed, contingent on a satisfactory construction schedule."

Superintendent Reed emphasized that the construction work will be segregated from school activities. He also said that while construction is underway, the schools heating and air systems will be functional without the need for back up mobile HVAC equipment.

Present at the meeting and voting for the authorization were Board Chair Floyd Burton (Div 4), and members Terry Harvey (1), Lisa Burton (3), and Mike Harris (5). Board member Quin Lasley, Superintendent Alan Reed, Board Attorney Jeff Hoover and his associate Coleman Hurt (2), was not present.

The action this morning took approximately 10 minutes. Mr. Reed said that further announcements will be made to the public as soon as learned.
