Mrs. Rachel Pierce Clark, Green Co., KY (1922-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, active with the WMU, Green County Democrat Chair woman, a Kentucky Colonel, and local election poll worker. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was a member of a distinguished, influential family. She was the daughter of the late Emmitt Pierce and Clara Alice Carter Pierce and the widow of Carl Vernon Clark, her husband of 51 years. She leaves 25 direct living descendants

Mrs. Rachel Pierce Clark, 92, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her home in Greensburg.

The funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Pierce Clark were conducted at 10amCT, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Greensburg Baptist Church 128 N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Burial is in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Todd Young and Dr. Keith Clark officiated. Visitation was from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Greensburg Baptist Church and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Rachel Pierce Clark, Green Co., KY (1922-2015)

Mrs. Rachel Pierce Clark of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Emmitt Pierce and Clara Alice Carter Pierce, was born on November 20, 1922 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her home in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 92 years, seven months, and five days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, active with the WMU, Green County Democrat Chair woman, a Kentucky Colonel, and local election poll worker.

She united in marriage to Carl Vernon Clark on August 1, 1940 who preceded her in death on November 9, 1991.

Survivors include:
  • Four daughters and sons-in-law: Nevellen and J.D. Craddock of Munfordville, KY; Pamela and Charles Shive of Louisville, KY; Camellia and Steve Edwards of Greensburg, KY; and Dr. Tammy Clark Ojo and Dr. Akinlolu Ojo of Michigan

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Keith and Becky Clark of Ft. Thomas, KY

  • Ten grandchildren: Clark Craddock, Jay Craddock, Carter Craddock, Andrew Shive, Misty Edwards, Derek Edwards, Erin Clark, Olivia Clark, Elisabeth Ojo, Nathan Ojo

  • Ten great-grandchildren: John Carter Craddock, Mary Craddock, Alexander Craddock, John Pierce Craddock, Nelson Craddock, Mila Rachael Shive, Jack Mendel Shive, Bryson Edwards, Brady Edwards, and Brecken Edwards

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-inlaw, Mendell H. Clark, on April 25, 2015; and a grandchild, Brennan Rhea Shive, on September 1998.
