KSP charges Owsley man with distribution of child pornography

BOONEVILLE, KY - On June 18, 2015, at approximately 2:50pmET, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 7-Richmond, arrested Matthew R. Hollan, 21, on charges related to distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.



Hollan was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The images included prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Hollan's residence on June 18, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Hollan is currently charged with six counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. All charges are Class D Felonies, with each count punishable by one to five years in prison.

Hollan was lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail. His booking photo is available through the detention center's website.
