Gertrude C. Allen, Taylor County, KY, (1932-2015)

She was a former employee of Metzmeier Nursing Home and Boston's Nursing Home in Campbellsville, KY. She professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith.She was a native of LaRue County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Jerry Carlile andthe late Ethel Murphy Carlile, and he widow of Cread Allen, her husband of over 56 years. She leaves 32 direct living descendants.

Gertrude C. Allen, 83, of Campbellsville, KY died at 7:30 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Greensburg, Green County, KY.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville by Elder Rueal Boils. Burial will be in Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation willl be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home



Gertrude C. Allen, Taylor County, KY, (1932-2015)

Gertrude C. Allen was the daughter of the late Jerry Carlile and Ethel Murphy Carlile. She was born February 25, 1932, in LaRue County, KY. She died at 7:30amET, Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 83 years, three months, and 19 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a former employee of Metzmeier Nursing Home and Boston's Nursing Home. She united in marriage to Cread Allen February 18, 1948. He preceded her in death November 21, 2004.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and one son: Jewell Shipp, Ruby Sanders and Charles Thomas Allen of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren: Paul Allen, Danny Allen, Jennifer Allen, Marie Allen, Amanda Allen, Scotty Allen, Chris Morgan, Jason Pace, Bradley Pace, Misty Smith and Crystal Gebler

  • Eighteen great-grandchildren

  • One sister: Maxine Nelson and husband, David of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter, Sammy Allen and Mary Jean Pike; one great-grandson, Shelby Thomas Smith; and three brothers and two sisters, William Howard Carlile, Lawrence Carlile, Elroy Carlile, Letha Perkins and Sadie Allen.
