Traffic stop turns to high speed pursuit, 2 arrested UPDATE: 6:11pmCT, Tue 2 Jun 2015: The operator of the vehicle has been identified as 30 year old Brice L. Turner, Woodstock GA; the passenger, 30 year old Caroline C. Turner, also of Woodstock, GA By Jared Newberry Public Affairs Officer, Region 2 Louisville, KY Franklin, KY - At 9:06amCT, Kentucky State Police CVE Division Senior Officer Jeremy Duvall initiated a traffic stop on a 2014 Chevrolet passenger car near the 30 mile marker on Interstate 65 southbound. During the course of the traffic stop the driver refused a consensual search of the vehicle. The driver then accelerated the vehicle into south bound traffic leading police units on chase with speeds reaching over 120 miles per hour. The driver of the vehicle continued operating at high speed, swerving his vehicle into the path of responding police units in an attempt to elude officers. The driver then exited the interstate at exit 2 and pulled into a convenience store parking lot where he exited the vehicle and began resisting arrest. The driver was subdued with the use of a Taser and was taken into custody without further incident. The driver faces charges including reckless driving, wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, and resisting arrest. Another person in the vehicle was also placed under arrest and charged in the incident. CVE Division was assisted by KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green and Warren County Sherriff's Office K-9.
