Linda Ruth Brown, 72, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. 30 May 2015)

She was the daughter of the late Robie Lester and Laura Elma Parke Gearlds. Her husband, Raymond C. Brown, survives. She leaves 23 direct and three step living descendants. She was retired from Edmonton 911 dispatch and a member of the Society Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Linda Ruth Brown, age 72, of Edmonton, KY died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Society Hill Baptist Church, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, June 1, 2015, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Robie Lester and Laura Elma Parke Gearlds. She was retired from Edmonton 911 dispatch and a member of the Society Hill Missionary Baptist church. She is survived by her husband Raymond C. Brown of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Johnny and wife Teresa Brown of Edmonton, KY; Scotty Brown of Glasgow, KY; and Kyle Brown of Edmonton, KY

  • Three daughters: Cindy Firkins and husband, Timmy, of Edmonton, KY; Ginger Stephens and husband Freddie of Edmonton, KY; and Mandy Hagy and husband John of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: James Phillip Gearlds of Glasgow, KY; Raymond Kendall Gearlds of Atlanta, TX; and Joffree Allen Gearlds of Maude, TX

  • One sister: Necia Helen Gearlds of North Vernon, IN

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Three step grandchildren

  • Five great great grandchildren
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy David, Jay, and Darrell Gearlds; onee sister, Meddie Elizabeth Brown; and one son, Robbie Allan Brown
