EOS USA to bring 150 jobs to Somerset, KY New facility is just over 50 miles from Downtown Columbia, just under 1 hour away. Steve Beshear's Communications Office FRANKFORT, KY - More jobs are coming to eastern Kentucky. Gov. Steve Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers today announced that EOS USA plans to open an operation in Somerset, KY and hire 150 Kentuckians. EOS, a leading provider of customer care and accounts receivables management services, also plans to invest nearly $4 million into the project. "This announcement is another great testament to the high quality workforce we have in southern and eastern Kentucky," said Congressman Rogers. "EOS was looking for reliable employees to ramp up their business and I applaud the Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation for assuring company leaders that they could end the search here in our region. With the driving spirit of SOAR - Shaping Our Appalachian Region, we're gaining momentum in business and industry recruitment efforts. We're putting folks back to work and securing a better future with more opportunities in sight." EOS USA plans to open a customer service call center, which will serve as the company's flagship national location for its first-party business. The 20,000-square-foot facility, on Valley Oak Drive, will be open before the end of the year. The company chose Somerset for its economical operating costs and skilled workforce. "EOS USA is excited to expand its operations in Kentucky," said Paul Leary, president and CEO of EOS USA. "The combination of geographic location and available workforce is an ideal fit for the growth of our company." EOS USA is a subsidiary of a German-based company, EOS Group which is a worldwide leader in the receivables management and outsourcing industry. EOS Group operates 50 companies in 26 countries and has more than 8,500 employees. EOS USA employs more than 1,000 people in North America. "I am excited to see the new EOS CCA facility up-and-running in Somerset by the end of the year, which will create 150 new Kentucky jobs," said Sen. Chris Girdler, of Somerset. "I appreciate the faith placed in our community by EOS CCA and look forward to the new opportunities the company will provide our city. I also would like to offer a special thank you to Congressman Rogers and Gov. Beshear for their efforts with this project." "I want to thank EOS CCA for investing in the future of Somerset, Pulaski County and the Commonwealth," said Somerset Mayor Eddie Girdler. "What we are experiencing is the result of many groups and agencies working together on a multitude of levels to accomplish a common goal, job creation. We anticipate a long and wonderful relationship with EOS and the benefits that all will enjoy as a result. A special thanks to Gov. To encourage the investment and job growth in Pulaski County, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $2 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets. In addition, EOS is eligible to receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network. Through the Kentucky Skills Network, companies are eligible to receive no cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced cost customized training and job training incentives. Last year, the Kentucky Skills Network trained more than 84,000 employees from more than 4,100 Kentucky companies. For more information on EOS USA, visit www.eos-usa.com.
