Bro. Roy C. Tomlin, 86, Glasgow, KY (d 25 May 2015)

He was the founder and pastor for 17 years, of Revenna Separate Baptist Church, located between Breeding and Edmonton, KY. He served as an SBC pastor for 53 years. His wife of 65 years, Charity Hollon Tomlin, survives. He was the patriarch of a great family, numbering 51 direct living descendants, spanning four generations.

Bro. Roy C. Tomlin age 86 of Glasgow, KY passed away Sunday, May 25, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, May 29, 2015, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Gibson Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday, May 28, 2015, and after 9amCT, Friday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Willie and Florence Richie Tomlin.

He served in the United States Air Force and was the husband of 65 years to Charity Hollon Tomlin who survives.

He was retired from General Motors. Bro. Tomlin served as a Baptist minister for 53 years and founded the Revenna Separate Baptist church in Metcalfe County which he pastored for seventeen years.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters. Sharon and husband Robert Eder of Indianapolis, IN; Pam and husband Leon Gibson of Edmonton, KY; and Cheryl and husband David Bolding of Glasgow, KY
  • Three brothers: Tom, Elijah and Eugene Tomlin all of Ohio
  • Fourteen grandchildren
  • Twenty-five great grandchildren
  • And nine great great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Revenna Separate Baptist Church.
