18-year-old arrested in home intrusion/burglary case

Charges alleged include burglary, assault; more may be pending. Investigation continues by Columbia Police Officer Johnny Dial, Chief Jason Cross, and Sgt. Tracy McCarol. Suspect lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.

At approximately 11:48amCT, Friday, 12 May 2015, Columbia Police Department responded to a home intrusion on Dillon Street in the limits of Columbia.



Upon officers arrival it was found that a male perpetrator had unlawfully entered the residence and assaulted a female who resided in the home, then fled on foot.

Officers were able to locate the suspect within a mile of the residence and take him into custody.

Arrested was 18 year old Tyler Kemp of Columbia, KY, charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree and Assault 4th degree.

More charges are pending investigation.

Kemp was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.

The investigation is being continued by Ofc. Johnny Dial who was assisted by Chief Jason Cross and Sgt. Tracy McCarol.
