Van vs. school bus crash occurs on US 61 N of Summersville

Early reports are that there are no one was injured on Green Co. School bus. However, a helicopter has arrived at to airlift at least one person from the scene. US 61 is shut down with estimated time of re-opening approximately 6pmCT

Details are still sketchy but we have confirmed that there has been a collision involving a Green County School bus and a van on US 61 N of Summersville, KY, near the Summersville Fire Department.



According to early reports, none of the occupants of the school bus were injured, but a helicopter has flown in to airlift at least one person from the scene.

Both the Green County Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY are at the scene.

The road is blocked in the 6000 block of US 68 with traffic being detoured vis KY 323. We will have more details as soon as received from investigating authorities. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
