Freddie McDonald, 79, Casey County, KY (1935-2015)

Freddie was a farmer, logger, and factory worker. He love to hunt, fish and farm but most of all he loved his family. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and was always willing to help anyone. He was the son of the late Luther McDonald and Tilda Catgherine Luttrell McDonald. His wife of 61 years, Mary Jo Emerson Mcdonald, survives. He leaves 26 direct living descendants.

Freddie McDonald passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. He was 79.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Don Burton officiating. Burial is in Thomas Ridge Cemetery.Visitation is Wednesday from 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Cody Brackett, Galynn Brackett, Jason Brackett, Tim Hadley, Austin Overstreet, and Zach Rowland.



Freddie McDonald, 79, Casey County, KY (1935-2015)

Born December 22, 1935 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Luther McDonald and Tilda Catherine Luttrell McDonald. He died Monday, May 4, 2015, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 79 years, four months, and 12 days.

Freddie was a farmer, logger, and factory worker. He love to hunt, fish and farm but most of all he loved his family. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and was always willing to help anyone.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Jo Emerson McDonald of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Children: Kathy (and Dale Owens) Brackett of Liberty, KY; Vickie (and Tom Collins) Rowland of Whitesburg, KY; and Tim McDonald of Windsor, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Helena McDonald

  • Eight grandchildren: Lorita (and Tim) Hadley, Billy (and April Lawless) Rowland; Galynn (and Mei Mei) Brackett, Tabitha Allen, Jason Brackett, Jessica Propes, Derek Propes, and Rachel McDonald

  • Fourteen great-grandchildren: Brooke, Kristen, Cody, Jeffrey, Jett, Ariel, Austin, Zach, David, Chris, Jacob, Kamron, Eyan and Nathan

  • A great-great-grandchild: Kyndall Brickman

  • and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends
In addition to his parent, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mable Grimes; and seven brothers, Clarence, Odie, Truman, Lonzie, Cleo, Walter and Archie McDonald.
