Mr. Jimmy Raikes, 61, Taylor Co., KY (1953-2015)

He was a former mechanic and had worked over nineteen years at Goodyear. Mr. Raikes professed faith in Christ and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was the son of the late Bill and Christine Alberson Raikes.

Mr. Jimmy Raikes of Campbellsville passed from this life on April 29, 2015 at the Hosparus Care Center in Louisville. There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Jimmy Raikes on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10amCT/11amET, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Garland Buckman will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery, Hwy 1157, Bradfordsville, KY 40009. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 3, 2015 after 1pmCT/2pmET.



Mr. Jimmy Raikes, 61, Taylor Co., KY (1953-2015)


Mr. Raikes was born July 28, 1953. He was the son of the late Bill and Christine (Alberson) Raikes. He died April 29, 2015, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 61 years, 9 months, and 1 day of age.

He was a former mechanic and had worked over nineteen years at Goodyear. Mr. Raikes professed faith in Christ and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Mr. Raikes leaves to mourn his passing:
  • One son: Donald Raikes and wife Peggy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two daughters: Jamia Murley and husband Shane of Campbellsville, KY; and Amy Raikes Hartman and husband Curtis of Casey County, KY

  • Three brothers: Hubert Raikes and wife Edith, Herbert Raikes and wife Dola, all of Bradfordsville, KY; and Billy Mattingly and fiance Janice of Raywick, KY

  • One sister: Gayle McNear and husband Buddy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Cordie Raikes, Kaleigh Murley, Tyler Raikes, and DJ Raikes, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Brandon Sutton and Shawn Sutton, both of Snyder, Texas,

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: David Allen Raikes, Michael Raikes, and Randall Raikes.
