Mr. Joseph Richard (Rufus) Wade, Taylor Co., KY

Mr. Wade was a well-respected farmer, and was able to work the fields he loved until the day of his passing.

Mr. Joseph Richard "Rufus" Wade of Campbellsville, KY, passed from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident.

At Mr. Wade's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral. Cremation was accorded him by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service. His ashes will be interred in the Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery beside his beloved wife.



Mr. Joseph Richard (Rufus) Wade, Taylor Co., KY

He was born the son of the late John "Jack" and Bessie (Gribbins) Wade on Wednesday, June 14, 1944. He died Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Spurlington, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age on this earth.

Mr. Wade was a well-respected farmer, and was able to work the fields he loved until the day of his passing.

Mr. Rufus Wade is survived by:
  • One sister: Anne Sutty of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four step-children: Michael L. Stamper of Radcliff, KY; Orlando Stamper, Jr. of Lawrenceburg, KY; Angela S. Brito of Witchita, Kansas, and Annette Webb of Milford, Delaware

  • Six step-grandchildren

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen (Ward) Stamper Wade, and four siblings: Robert Wade, Ernest Wade, William Wade, and Shirley Blankenship.
