Lindsey Wilson Baseball sweeps twin bill at Shawnee State

Blue Raiders finish series sweep of host Bears By Matthew Stokes

PORTSMOUTH, OHIO – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Shawnee State (OH) on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Branch Rickey Park.



The Blue Raiders upped their record to 33-17 overall and 14-6 in Mid-South Conference play. Lindsey Wilson closes on a seven-game winning steak heading into next week’s MSC Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Meanwhile, the host Bears fell to 17-27 overall and 7-13 in MSC competition.

The opener resulted in a 14-4, eight-inning victory for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson finished game one with 13 base hits and held Shawnee State to six hits.

During the nightcap, the Blue Raiders won by a 2-0 margin in seven innings.
