LWC Softball hosts St. Catharine at Egnew Park 17-18 Apr 2015

Saturday marks Senior Day. Six Blue Raiders, Alex Bautista, Chris Erker, Matt Lashlee, Russ Morse, Keegan Burney and Luke Allen will be honored between games.

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team hosts St. Catharine (KY) in a pivotal three-game Mid-South Conference series this weekend beginning on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 5pmCT, with a double header to follow on Saturday, starting at 1pmCT, all at Egnew Park, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY.



Saturday marks Senior Day for the Blue Raiders where six seniors will be honored in between games of the doubleheader. will all be honored for their contributions to the baseball program and to Lindsey Wilson College.

Lindsey Wilson (26-16, 9-5 MSC), who is receiving votes in the poll, most recently defeated Brescia (Owensboro, KY) 12-1 on Tuesday.

Brandon Munoz and Bautista each finished 3-for-4 in the game and scored two runs. Bautista hit his team-leading 15th home run of the season and added four RBIs. Daryl Blaskovich went a perfect 2-for-2 and scored three runs.

Bautista leads the Blue Raiders with a .403 batting average and 55 RBIs. The team has stolen 84 bases this season led by Munoz's 19 stolen bases. Bautista is second with 18 stolen bases and Edgar Lebron has swiped 15 bags. Ryan Hartman and Scott Sebald have a combined 13-5 record on the mound. Hartman leads the team with 67 strikeouts, while Sebald has 61. The Patriots (26-11, 11-3 MSC), who are also receiving votes in the poll, most recently fell 6-5 and 2-1 to Oakland City (IN) on Wednesday.

Francisco Gonzalez has a team-high .410 batting average, while Harold Diaz leads St. Catharine with 30 RBIs.

John Werner has been strong on the mound for the Patriots posting an 8-1 record, a 0.53 earned run average and 80 strikeouts.

The Patriots currently lead the MSC standings with their 11-3 record, with the Blue Raiders in third place at 9-5.

Last season, the Blue Raiders took two of three games from the Patriot.
