LWC Phi Beta Lambda members garner several prizes at state competition

Lindsey Wilson Students competed with approximately 150 students from chapters across Kentucky. Four students honored; Michael Robinson takes first place in Computer Applications

The weekend of March 20-21, 2015 was an exciting time for nine Lindsey Wilson College students who are members of the elite business fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda. These students competed against approximately 150 students from various chapters in the state of Kentucky.

The state conference was held on the campus of the University of Pikeville, Pikeville, Kentucky. Winners at the state competition are eligible to complete at the Phi Beta Lambda National Conference which will be held June 24-27 in Chicago, Illinois.



The student winners and their competition categories are:
  • Michael Robinson - 1st place, Computer Applications
  • Hillary Bumpus - 2nd place, Contemporary Issues in Sports
  • Hillary Bumpus - Who's Who in KY Phi Beta Lambda
  • Caio da Cruz - 3rd place, Macroeconomics
  • Katherine Dickerson - 2nd place, Microeconomics
Phi Beta Lambda is the premier business fraternity for students who are preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. Phi Beta Lambda was founded in 1958 and currently has approximately 11,000 student members. The first Lindsey Wilson College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda was founded in August 2014. There are currently 28 members in the Lindsey Wilson College chapter.
