Ruth Pearl Patten, 92, Casey County, KY (1922-2015)

She was was the matriarch of a very large Casey County, KY family. She leaves 48 direct living descendants. She was the daughter of the late Lillard and Ella Vanoy Davis and the widow of William Walter Patten. She was a homemaker and a farmer and of the Christian faith.

Ruth Pearl Patten passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her home in Casey County, KY. She was 92.

Funeral services are 9amCT/10amET,Friday, March 27, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville, Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers are Greg Short, Robbie Short, James Smith, Kevin Patten, Curtis Patten, Kerry Patten, Zackary Patten and Rickie Patten.

Ruth Pearl Patten, 92, Casey County, KY (1922-2015)

Born in September 7, 1922 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Lillard and Ella Vanoy Davis. She died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Casey County, KY, at the age of 92 years, six months, and 18 days.

She was a homemaker and farmer. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Patten, who died July 3, 1995; three children, Walter Patten, Jr, Marion Patton, and Russell Patten; two brothers, Ray and Earl Davis; and sister, Ruby Davis.

Survivors include the following:
  • Six sons: Curtis Patten of Liberty, KY; Lewis (and Julita) Patten of Dunnville, KY; Lowell Patten of Liberty, KY; Andrew (and Judy) Patten of Dunnville, KY; Dallas (and Ledia) Patten of Liberty, KY; and Kenneth Patten of Middleburg, KY

  • Five daughters: Tina Patten of Liberty, KY; Carol (and Terry) Wethington of Liberty, KY; Roxie Short of Dayton, Ohio: Marie (and Gary) Smith of London, KY; and Charlotte Ali of Dayton, Ohio

  • Two brothers: Carl Davis of Illinois and Herbert Davis of Dunnville, KY

  • Two sisters: Hazel Norman of Summan,IN; and Gladys Jessie of Columbia, KY

  • Twenty-eight grandchildren

  • Nine great-grandchildren
In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the Salem Cemetery Fund, C/O Judy Allen, Mertyle Drive, Dunnville, KY 42528.
