William Aldus (W.A.) Brockman, 89, Casey Creek, KY (1925-2015)

He was one of the great Adair Countians. He was a member of Knifley Christian Church and a World War II Army Veteran, where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne and a Paratrooper of which he was very proud. He was a prominent farmer and well known for his expertise with Angus cattle throughout the area. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. He was the son of the late Willie and Ethel Dunbar Brockman. His wife of 64 years, Lena Forrest Brockman, survives. He leaves 32 living descendants. He was an extraordinarily engaging man who made longlasting friendships quickly, and retained a sense of curiosity and adventure throughout his life, wanting to learn all he could about his wonderful world. "Everytime I see a new road, I want to go down it, to see what's there," he would say.

William Aldus "W.A." Brockman, 89, of Casey Creek, KY, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 7:32pmCT, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 1pm,CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bill Warren officiating. Burial in Brockman Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Monday, March 23, 2015.



William Aldus "W.A." Brockman, 89, Adair Co., KY (1925-2015)


He was born May 10, 1925, in Adair County, to the late Willie and Ethel Dunbar Brockman. He died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 15 days.

He was a member of Knifley Christian Church and a World War II Army Veteran, where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne and a Paratrooper of which he was very proud. He was a prominent farmer and well known for his expertise with Angus cattle throughout the area. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Brockman, Lester A. Brockman and a brother in infancy.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lena Forrest Brockman, whom he married on December 22, 1950 and the following:
  • Six children: Janella (Carlos) Sullivan of Russell Springs, KY; Lamar Brockman of Knifley, KY; Inette Goodin of Milltown, KY; Dwain (Theresa) Brockman of Knifley, KY; Neil (Angela) Brockman of Alabama, Lavonne (Alan) Segal of Georgia

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • And 10 great-grandchildren
At Mr. Brockman's request, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the EKU Hillary Hadley Memorial Scholarship Fund or the charity of your choice. These may be made at the funeral home.
