Dale Turner Harvey, 85, Adair Co., KY (1930-2015)

He was a member of a prominent Adair County, KY, family, the son of the late Holland H. and Vina E Reece Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a long time member of the Argo Summit Baptist Church in Illinois where he served as a deacon. He served on the Bedford Park Zoning Board for 25 years and was retired from General Motors.

Dale Turner Harvey, 85, of Bedford Park, Illinois, formerly of Adair County, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at his home in Illinois.

The family requests visiting after 4pmCT on Thursday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Rev. David Kemp will officiate. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with full military rites presented by VFW Post 6097.


Mr. Harvey was born in Fairplay, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Holland H. and Vina E. Reece Harvey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Willis Harvey on October 2, 2006; and His brothers and sisters: Hack Harvey, Donnie Harvey, Reece Harvey, Eris Sharp and Betty Berry

He is survived by:
  • Two sons: Glen Harvey and his wife Mary, of Bridgeview, IL; Kenneth Harvey and his wife Linda, of Homer Glen, Illinois
  • Three daughters: Janet Riola and husband Dale of Channahon, IL; Joyce Harvey of Wheaton, IL; Jacalyn Jaconetty of Palos Heights, IL
  • Two sisters: Doris Bryant of Columbia, KY and Jessie Scardigno of New Jersey
  • One sister-in-law: Marilyn Harvey of Columbia, KY
  • 11 grandchildren
  • Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends
