Road Conditions - KYTC District 4 - 1:30pm Update

Snow and ice crews are plowing and salting in all eleven counties in District 4 now that snow has ended.

By Chris Jessie

I65 - Traffic is stopped northbound in Hart County. Semi blockages near Mile 71 and 76 are being cleared now that towing responders can access these trucks. Hart County Emergency Management is shuttling water and gasoline to stranded motorists between the 65 and 77 Mile Points. Southbound is moving slowly thru Hart County. In Hardin County, northbound is moving slowly. Southbound is stopped in some locations between Shepherdsville and Exit 103, Joe Prather Highway.

WK/BG Parkways - Covered but traffic is moving slowly, except for BG between Elizabethtown and Boston where blockages have just cleared and traffic is just beginning to crawl.

US/KY Routes - 31W is being used as an I65 detour but is now blocked near Upton due to a semi collision. Other run-offs and minor crashes are reported district wide. Muldraugh passable along 31W. At last check, KY 313 was still blocked between I65 and US 31W. US 31E is very slow between Hodgenville and Bardstown.

All roads are snow covered. Plowing will continue through the night and treating with salt and calcium chloride will continue until temperatures drop tonight.

Periodic updates will continue through this distribution list. Quick updates are being posted as needed on the District 4 Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/kytcd4. You do not have to login to view this page.
