Chris Bennett is teaching Contracting in KY at SCC

Bennett, a resident of Columbia, KY, is a master electrician who has been trained in leadership and business management. He has completed over 2,000 electrical construction projects. SOMERSET, KY, (2 Mar 2015) - Licensed journeyman or master HVAC technicians that also have an electrical contractor license are now able to obtain all the necessary continuing education requirements at one time by taking a new course at Somerset Community College (SCC) entitled Contracting in Kentucky. This new course meets both requirements for HVAC and/or electrical contractor continuing education.



The Contracting in Kentucky course is being taught by Chris Bennett and offers an introduction to the various facets of establishing, operating and owning an electrical contracting business. Topics covered include legal forms of business organizations, financial and accounting issues, risk management and insurance, marketing, production, human resource requirements, OSHA Safety Regulations for skilled trades, retirement planning and workman's compensation issues. Quality management techniques will also be addressed.

SCC is an approved provider for the State of Kentucky Department of Housing, Building, and Construction for mandated continuing education for licensed electricians, electrical contractors, HVAC and plumbers.
