James "Goody" Patterson, age 74, departed this life Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amCT, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Larry Wisdom and Bro. David Patterson the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Ladies Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-9pm Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Wallace White, William "Fats" Coffey, David Patterson, Larry Penick, Leonard Webb, and Dean Blevins

James "Goody" Patterson was born November 24, 1940 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Garland and Easer White Patterson. He departed this life Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of 74 years, three months and eight days.

"Goody" had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a farmer.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Doyle and Charles Patterson and Carolyn Abell.

He is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Tracy Russell of Center

  • Seven sisters and six brothers-in-law: Geraldine Young, Brenda and Luther Dial, Karen and Randal Davenport, Kay and Bud Bonta, Faye and J.W. Wright, all of Greensburg, KY; Elizabeth and Denny Smothers of Elizabethtown, and Linda and Gary Davis of Louisville, KY

  • One brother and one sister-in-law: David and Jonie Patterson of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Ashley and Dwayne Hadley of Columbia, KY; and Jessica and Derek Judd of Center, KY

  • Four great grandchildren: Blake, Jaxon, Mason and Tanner, all of Center, KY

  • And a special friend: Peggy Patterson of Hardyville, KY
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations made to the charity of choice. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY.
