Robert Koch: Wants location of old Mont Murrell farm, Bliss, KY By Robert Roch, Brier, WA I have a few pictures taken in the vicinity of Columbia KY over 100 years ago of both sides of my mother's family. An accompanying photo is the family of Milton Jesse Murrell, a Union Army veteran of the Civil War. taken in 1906 in Bliss, KY. From Left: Charles Murrell MD, Suzy Murrell, John Murrell DDS, Rev. Mont Mourning Murrell (my grandfather), Judge Thomas Murrell, Martha Porter, Edwin Murrell, Seated: Milton Jesse Murrell, Elizabeth Ellen (Mourning) Murrell. Milton died in 1906. In 1908-09 Mont, Edwin and Charles and their mother Elizabeth tried homesteading in the area of Elida, New Mexico. They weren't successful. Mont came back to Columbia and attended Lindsey Wilson school graduating in 1911. I would be very interested in finding out just where my great grandfather's farm was in the Bliss community.
